Rebel Yell French Oak - 45% ABV
Nose: Cherry jam and cinnamon swirls, with mocha, treacle toffee and vanilla sponge. A hint of caramelised nuts develops.
Palate: Chai latte and very dark chocolate, with cooked plum, grated nutmeg and more cinnamon.
Finish: Golden syrup and toasty oak spices, with a touch of espresso and forest fruits.
SMOKEHEAD - 43% ABV
Nose: Smoke! Lapsang souchong. Cool wood smoke. Thick and full.
Palate: Big, puckering peat. Smoky, fruity sweetness, touch of sherry, sultana. Herbal.
Finish: Herbal, tangy fruits and more peat smoke!
SEAWEED & AEONS 10 Year-Old
Nose: Rich, powerful sherry with a well-integrated core of peat. Solid.
Palate: Well-balanced but extremely forceful on delivery. The sherry makes itself known in a really good way.
Finish: Red apple sweetness gives way to oaken-vanilla goodness and fades elegantly into the embers of a chargrilled well-aged steak.
Overall: A thoroughly impressive dram. One would be forgiven for mistaking it for an OB with another 5 years of age on it.
The Irishman Whiskey - 40% ABV
Nose: Light and fruity on the nose. A little hint of liquorice pops up, as does crumbly vanilla fudge.
Palate: A classic pudding of peaches and cream with a sprinkling of crushed up biscuits and almonds.
Finish: Fairly long, with oak cropping up near the end.
Overall: Superb! A cracking Irish whiskey.
Nomad Outlander Whiskey - 41.3% ABV
Nomad Outland Whisky is a collaborative blended whisky from renowned master distiller Richard Paterson and expert Sherry producers Gonzalez Byass. It is made with a selection of over 30 malt and grain whiskies aged between 5 and 8 years old, which are blended together and matured in Sherry butts in Scotland for three years. Following that, the whisky is shipped off to Jerez, where it is finished in Pedro Ximénez casks for a year before it is bottled. Richard Paterson and Gonzalez Byass' master distiller Antonio Flores experimented with different Sherry casks, including Oloroso and Fino, but ultimately decided on the Pedro Ximénez casks for this enticing expression.
