The Whiskey Rooms have put together a delightful collection of Non-Peated Whiskies - 5 x 100ml Bottles presented in a black eco-friendly gift bag...

    GLENFARCLAS 15 Year-Old - 46% ABV

A wonderfully sherried 15 year old dram from Glenfarclas, boasting oodles of dried fruit notes. It’s bottled at 46% ABV simply because this was the strength that George Grant’s grandfather preferred it at. Happily, this also results in the Speysider boasting a big, juicy, Christmas cake profile. A fabulously complex Scotch while also being easily drinkable!

Nose: Intense, powerful sherry. Cream sherry, certainly – Pedro Ximenez? almost… a touch of peppermint? An almost rancio quality to this. Smells older than 15.

Palate: Raisins, more sherry, orange peel, walnuts, dates.

Finish: Incredibly long, complex, more of the Walnuts again.

NIKKA WHISKY FROM THE BARREL - 51.4% ABV

The award-winning Nikka Whisky From The Barrel blend is absolutely full of flavour. Bottled at 51.4% ABV. The blend combines both single malt and grain whiskies from the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries, which are then married in a huge variety of casks, including bourbon barrels, sherry butts and refill hogsheads. A huge depth of flavour in this stunning Japanese whisky.

Nose: Medium-body with good balance. There are notes of cut flowers and fresh fruits, spice and a little oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and punchy. There is plenty of winter spice and toffee, a little caramel and vanilla and a good mouthful of fruit.

Finish: Long, warming and fruity with a little oaken spice.

THE IRISHMAN Single MALT - 40% ABV

The Irishman Single Malt Irish Whiskey comes, surprisingly, from Ireland. It's a triple distilled expression which is aged in both sherry and bourbon casks for over 10 years before bottling.

Nose: Light and fruity on the nose. A little hint of liquorice pops up, as does crumbly vanilla fudge.

Palate: A classic pudding of peaches and cream with a sprinkling of crushed up biscuits and almonds.

Finish: Fairly long, with oak cropping up near the end.

    NOMAD Outlander - 43.5% ABV

Nomad Outland Whisky is a collaborative blended whisky from renowned master distiller Richard Paterson and expert Sherry producers Gonzalez Byass. It is made with a selection of over 30 malt and grain whiskies aged between 5 and 8 years old, which are blended together and matured in Sherry butts in Scotland for three years. Following that, the whisky is shipped off to Jerez, where it is finished in Pedro Ximénez casks for a year before it is bottled. Richard Paterson and Gonzalez Byass' master distiller Antonio Flores experimented with different Sherry casks, including Oloroso and Fino, but ultimately decided on the Pedro Ximénez casks for this enticing expression

BULLIET Rye Whiskey - 45% ABV

Nose: Big heaps of cherries and vanilla, with subtle notes of leather and tobacco.

Palate: Rather hot at first, the spices coming to the forefront. This is followed by peaches, more cherries and a little bit of orange zest.

Finish: A smoky finish, carried by cinnamon, allspice and a hint of sweeties.

Overall: The Bulleit distillery sure know their way around a rye whiskey.
